What We Believe
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were guided by the Holy Spirit to write every word. Because of this, the Bible is without error and we can base our beliefs and life on its truths.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, however, sin separates us from that relationship. As a result, man is unable to have a right relationship with God by his own effort. It is only by salvation through Christ that we can be restored.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who believe in the death and resurrection of Christ and commit to following Him as the Lord and Savior of their life.
We believe that through God, man is given eternal life through Jesus Christ and because of this, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by any effort by the Christ-follower. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
As Christ Followers, we believe that we are stewards of God’s resources and that He is the owner of all things. In scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving at least one-tenth of all God has so generously given to us. The Bible says, ”Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:10)
(2 Corinthians 9:6)

If you’ve grown up in or around the church like me, you have most likely heard that we are supposed to give 10% of our income to God. I’ve always accepted that teaching and done my best to give at least that much. However, I recently went to the Bible to prepare a sermon series on tithing and came across something I wasn’t expecting… NOWHERE in the New Testament are we told to tithe 10% of our income, or any other specific amount for that matter! Even more dumbfounding is that even the Old Testament didn’t give command the Jews to only give 10%.
